Rob The Universe and The Return is a 5-piece alternative hip-hop band based in Portland, Oregon, centered around the songs of Portland rapper, Rob The Universe. Melodic, live instrumentation across a myriad of genres serve as canvas for intricate rhyme schemes that weave narratives about consciousness, alternate dimensions, aliens, universal oneness, and death.

Rob The Universe has been performing out of Portland, Oregon since 2018. He has supported nationally touring acts such as Kool Keith, Brother Ali, and Lyrics Born. His debut full length album, The Leviathan, was released in 2021. In 2023, he was awarded a grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Portland for a science fiction, music video trilogy entitled The Matryoshka Trilogy.

The Return formed in 2022 and alongside Rob, consists of members of local Portland bands, The Green Room and Eel Salad. While the Return is hard to pin down, genre-wise, they appeal to a wide variety of audiences. The Return has shared the bill with jam bands, funk hip hop acts, and even thrown down on the main stage at EMD festival, Ohm on the Range.  They are currently working on their debut full-length album.
